Homework
Homework helps students develop and extend their learning, as well as the ability to learn independently. At Key Stage 4, it becomes even more important that students have developed the independent learning skills they will need in the next step of their education or training.
At Key Stage 3 students are set weekly homework tasks that are shared through Google Classroom. Each piece of homework consists of numeracy and literacy tasks, allowing students to focus on reading and demonstrate their understanding of subject specific language. We ask parents and carers to be involved in their children’s learning by discussing homework and ensuring they meet deadlines.
As homework tasks involve using online resources, our school facilities offer the opportunity for students to stay behind after school to complete homework. Using Google Classroom and Sparx Maths as our source for all homework means students can easily access it in school, in the library, from home or from mobile devices. Our aim is for all students to have
access to the resources they need to complete homework.
