Welcome to Google Classroom!
Google Classroom works on any PC, Laptop, Tablet, Smartphone or any other mobile device and is free of charge to use.
All students have been provided with their Google Classroom login to access everything they need.
We will be delivering our blended curriculum through Google Classroom, this will allow students to access their learning online on a laptop or via any tablet/mobile device by downloading the Google Classroom App, this will mean that in the event of any school closure or a student without any symptoms being required to self-isolate they will still be able to access their current curriculum.
Students self-isolating will be able to access all their lessons via Google Classroom, allowing students to keep up with the in-school curriculum. Any student self-isolating while a member of their household has symptoms or is waiting for a test result will be contacted by a member of the pastoral team who will be able to ensure they can access work in line with their usual timetable.
In the event of a prolonged school closure such as a year group sent home or a whole school closure, we can assure you that all lessons will carry on remotely via the Google Meet feature of Google Classroom, with student’s following their usual timetables.
Students can access their Google Classroom blended learning platform at the following address; https://classroom.google.com/
Students have been allocated their own username and password in school but should they be unable to log in please email email@example.com for support.
If we go into lockdown, will lessons be on Zoom like before?
We are moving away from using Zoom and you will be able to access your live lessons using the Google Meet feature. Unlike Zoom, from Google Classroom students will be able to access their full time table of lessons, including assignments and homework links that will take you to Show My Homework.
How do I log on to Google Classroom?
Visit https://classroom.google.com/ and use your Academy email address (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org) and use the password given to you by school. If you have any issues logging on, email email@example.com or call the office and ask to speak to Miss Taylor or Mr Williams.
I am trying to use a tablet to log in, how do I do it?
We advise downloading Google Classroom as an app on your tablet. When logging in using the details mentioned above, it may ask you for a Pin number. It is the Pin used to unlock the device, (passcode).
