Letter regarding Transition during COVID-19
14th May 2020
Dear parents and carers,
I hope you and your families remain safe and well. I would like to start by saying a huge thank you to all of you who have taken part in any of our transition challenges on our website. It has been so lovely to receive so many entries and messages from our young students who are joining us in September. We continue to enjoy hearing from you all and seeing photos of the activities you have engaged in and starting to see some of the new and wonderful faces who are joining us in due course.
I understand following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Sunday evening regarding the possible wider reopening of schools, you will be wondering what this may mean for your child transitioning to The Boulevard Academy over the course of the coming weeks.
As a city, we have decided that to keep Year 6 students safe, we will not invite students to physically visit secondary school sites until September at the earliest. Instead, we have devised a range of novel and exciting transition activities and competitions, as well as virtual meetings with new teachers, phone calls and ‘first look’ videos of the school in order to give new students an insight into life at their new school. We will be in touch with Primary schools in due course to arrange virtual visits, as we excited to meet our new cohort!
I want to reassure you that any decision that has been taken by our Academy, and the city, has solely the intentions of keeping every student and family in our care as safe as possible in the current climate. With this in mind we will be contacting each of you via telephone over the course of the next half term to introduce your child to their new tutor. Your child’s tutor can answer any queries or questions you have regarding your child’s time with us, so please do not hesitate to ask. We will endeavour to make the transition process as smooth and as worry free as possible for you and your child. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact our office. I will be in contact with you again as soon as I am in position to provide you with more information.
Stay safe. You are in our thoughts.

Letter from Head of KS3
Dear Parents and Carers of our future Boulevard Academy students,
We are delighted to welcome you and your child to The Boulevard Academy and are excited for you and your child to be joining us in due course and look forward to meeting you all.
We understand that this is an incredibly difficult time for you and your families. You are in our thoughts and I very much hope that you are all keeping well and staying strong in the face of the pressure we are all experiencing.
The transition from primary to secondary is always an exciting time for all. However, as we are all aware, this year is going to be a very different one.
In light of current events, we would like to reassure you all in this difficult time that every one of our new students deserves some form of transition. Settling them in and preparing them for their time with us is important and we are therefore devising a plan to support and aid, as closely as we are able, alongside primary schools, to ensure we can give your child the most positive transition we can in current circumstances.
We would like to offer our support to all during this challenging and difficult time.
Please keep updated with further guidance and support via our website.
We look forward to welcoming your child to the Academy in the future.
With very best wishes to you and your families
Mrs P Hind
